Psychotherapy is the process of being guided towards an understanding of how and when difficulties began, and helped to develop the life skills needed to overcome negative behaviours, and to create new strategies for life improvement.
A development of this, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), has been available privately in this country for over twenty years but has only recently been advanced by the Government and NHS as a far more effective way than drugs to treat a wide range of conditions.
These include: depression, anger, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic fatigue syndrome, drug and alcohol addictions, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual and relationship problems, sleep problems.
Regrettably NHS waiting lists just for initial assessment can be up to six months long and even then with no guarantee of immediate treatment. Our experienced Psychotherapists are usually able to offer 1st appointments within 7 – 10 days.
