Personal Development /Stress Management

Although it is true that stress can be a motivator for improved performance, it is also the case that in excess it can have the reverse effects of reducing motivation and productivity, and pressurising personal lives and relationships.

Individual Stress Management

Because of the wide number of causes of negative stress we at the Fairdown Centre use a variety of approaches that are tailored to the individual's particular circumstances and environment, so as to bring about the most resourceful outcome in the shortest time possible. These may include Life Coaching, Counselling, Psychotherapy or Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Corporate Stress Management

The programmes for this are designed to address Issues such as: changes of work style; redundancy; survival of redundancy; internal communication and relationships; conflict resolution; time control and Management; fear of and antipathy towards change; Company direction and identity.

These programmes can be offered as individual or group face-to-face sessions, or in the form of workshops, whichever is appropriate, and would generally be tailored and adapted from the structure as outlined below:

  1. TWO-WAY ASSESSMENT
An initial consultation to assess the person’s overall needs and suitability for the Programme, together with the opportunity to gain insights and to question the efficacy in relation to that person.

  2.  PROFILES AND PERCEPTIONS
A full case history is built up based upon those past and present circumstances which may be responsible for creating stress either at the present time or in the foreseeable future.

  3.  SYMPTOMS AND PROBLEMS
In conjunction with the therapist a clearer idea of what needs to be achieved is formulated in order to maximise productivity, fitness and well-being, identifying positive aspects and acknowledging areas of improvement within the individual’s control.

  4. GOALS AND DIRECTIONS
Consideration is made of how to change lifestyle without stress, and create a positive and realistic future towards which to work.

  5. NEW COPING SKILLS
Exploration is undertaken of the possibilities of changing failure to success with respect to conditions such as stress, anxiety, financial pressures, and habits e.g. smoking, drinking.

  6. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
The skills required are built and developed and put into practice, whilst recognising inappropriate conditioned responses and learning how to change them.

  7. CONFIDENCE AND ACHIEVEMENT
Identifying and acknowledging achievements, and building on these to create a confidence to exercise personal choice, autonomy and freedom, which is both comfortable and achievable.

  8. THE FUTURE
Planning ahead is structured for the continuing good health, quality of life, fulfilment of ambitions and congruent change and adaptability.

Life Coaching - confidence and success are the goal
